Medchem Source is a privately held company specializing in custom synthesis and contract research services. From 2005 to 2024, we operated in Federal Way, WA.
Today, we are located in Newcastle, WA, a suburb of Seattle. Our expertise includes medicinal chemistry, the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds, natural products,
pheromones, and click chemistry reagents.
Our goal is to provide high-quality, cost-effective services in research and development to our
customers through our domestic and international business partners.
Our partners operate state-of-the-art facilities in Ewing Township, NJ, and Bangalore, India. These facilities are equipped to handle complex organic synthesis, including building blocks
derived from heterocyclic compounds, natural products, peptides, natural and synthetic amino acid derivatives, and pheromones.
We understand the time-sensitive nature of today’s drug discovery process and guarantee on-time delivery of our clients’ projects. We deeply value our relationships with clients

People
Rama Bhatt, Ph.D., is a cofounder and CEO of Medchem Source LLC. Dr. Bhatt is an accomplished inventor, entrepreneur, and versatile medicinal chemist with
over 30 years of experience in academic and biopharmaceutical industries. Before cofounding Medchem Source, Dr. Bhatt served as a Senior Scientist at Cell
Therapeutics Inc., where he established a proven track record in drug discovery, leading to two clinical candidates and three early-stage developmental drug
candidates.
Dr. Bhatt earned a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at UT Southwestern
Medical Center in Dallas, TX. He has authored more than 40 research publications in peer-reviewed journals and holds 12 U.S. and international patents.
